 TO EXPAND ITS MANUFACTURING FACILITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Silgan White Cap Southeast Asia, Inc., (SWCSEA) has registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority and is embarking on a multi-million US Dollar expansion project at a PEZA Ecozone site in Laguna province to augment its current closures manufacturing capacity.
SWCSEA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Silgan White Cap which is
the closures division of Silgan Holdings Inc. Silgan Holdings is a
leading packaging company based in Stamford, Connecticut USA operating sixty nine (69) plants worldwide. It is the leading supplier of plastic & metal containers for the personal care and food products industries in the United States. Its subsidiary Silgan White Cap is the undisputed leading supplier worldwide of vacuum closures (metal, plastic and composite).
SWCSEA was established in the Philippines in 1995 and started-up plant operations in April 1997. It produces Twist-Off® metal vacuum
closures for food and beverage companies in the Philippines and across the Asia Pacific region. SWCSEA is the leading supplier of vacuum metal closures in the entire Asia-Pacific region with exports reaching as far as Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Taiwan, Turkey and all ASEAN countries. Its customer base reads like a Who’s Who list in the Asian food & beverage products industry.
Over the last ten-year period, its sales have consistently grown at double-digit pace requiring the need to relocate plant operations to a much bigger facility and at a PEZA Ecozone since majority of its output is exported. SWCSEA is also a technology and innovation leader in the field of packaging safety as it strictly adheres to the latest European Union Food Contact standards for packaging materials.
The relocation and expansion project is a clear manifestation of Silgan White Cap’s and Silgan Holdings’ commitment to the Philippines and the confidence in its growth potential. The new and bigger plant will not only guarantee its customers with continuous supply of quality closures but also ensure enough space for future expansion.
The formal signing of its PEZA Registration took place on August 23, 2007 at the PEZA Headquarters in Manila. Silgan White Cap Southeast Asia, Inc.’s President & General Manager Edwin P. Seña signed and Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director Lilia S. De Lima signed the registration agreement.
