Doosan of Ansan City is Amcor White Cap’s licensee in the Republic of Korea. The company has introduced the first 27mm diameter RRP Twist-OffÒ metal closure (Regular Recessed Panel) into this market.
The customer for the new cap is Dr Chung’s Food, Seoul, for its brand ‘Vegemil?, a soy milk.

Amcor White Cap’s customer care and customer service were the big factors in the successof the project.
Doosan and Dr Chung’s technicians attended a workshop at Amcor White Cap’s factory in Hannover, Germany prior to the launch. This enabled them to obtain the know-how about cap application and learn all the details about their new sealing machine the AWC 600-1. To see cap and machine in a working situation Doosan and Dr Chung’s visited a customer already using the closure. They were also present at the production start up, as were Amcor White Cap and Doosan personnel.
The closure
The 27mm RRP is a redesign of the 27mm Regular Twist - Off Ò metal cap. The key feature is the compound channel, which replaces the full compound. This results in a reduction of overall product migration due to a decreased compound contact area. There is also a reduced risk of floating particles. The launch has been a great success and sales results have been excellent. |
