Silgan White Cap Southeast Asia has established its first Sales Office in the Australian continent.
Opened on January 15 this year, Silgan White Cap Australasia is now responsible for the promotion and sale of the company's full range of metal, plastic and composite closures and sealing equipment to customers in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and other Pacific islands.
This is Silgan White Cap's first direct operation serving Australasia and has been established following the termination of its License and Distributorship Agreement with Amcor Ltd, which ended on 31st December 2009.
The Melbourne office is being managed during the start-up period by Robert Perez, Sales Area Manager for Southeast and South Asia, who has extensive experience of the closures industry having looked after the Asia region for many years. Scott Kerr has been appointed as the new Sales Manager for Australasia and he will work alongside Mr Perez in order to become completely familiar with the company's products, services and customers before assuming full responsibility for the office in due course.
PT closures are being supplied from Silgan White Cap's China factory, while Twist-Off® closures come from its Philippines operation.

With fourteen plants Silgan White Cap is an international producer of metal, plastic and composite closures for oxygen sensitive, vacuum packaged and aseptically packaged food products and still beverages. Its closures are used exclusively in glass or plastic container applications.
